HMT THALLIUM TEST KIT
Number 81 on the "periodic table" of elements
Tests the presence of ions of thallium III to a high degree of accuracy to
detect contamination in the body and on a wide range of materials in your environment
NOTE:
- this kit is produced mainly to check for Thallium III ions only
- sample specimen solution for testing must be within pH range of 5 - 9
Preparation of Test Solutions
- Check specimen solution to be tested to make sure pH is within range
- Baking powder can be used to make the specimen solution more alkali or vinegar more acidic
- Remove the 3 vials from the large test tube
- In the empty large test tube add 5ml of the specimen solution to be tested
- The solution is now ready for testing
Conducting the test
- Pour all the colourless liquid from the brown glass vial (reagent 1) carefully into the specimen solution in the large test tube. Cap
and shake
- Add all the colourless liquid in the red cap vial (reagent 2) into the large test tube. Cap and shake
- Add all the green powder in the small clear vial (reagent 3) into the large test tube. Cap and shake
- Finally add all the colourless liquid in the clear cap vial (reagent 4) into the large test tube. Cap and share vigorously for 15
seconds. Turn the large test tube with cap facing the ground and stand
- Wait for 1 minute and check the colour of the liquid surface of the mixed solutions. There should be a layer of solution that is
separated from the mixed brownish solution at the top
- Compare the colour of this layer of oily band of solution to the colour chart provided to determine the presence of Thallium III ions
in the specimen solution tested
