How to Test
Preparation of Test Solutions
- Remove the the 3 vials from the large test tube.
- In the empty large test-tube, add 5 ml. of the solution to be tested.
- The solution is now ready for testing.
Conducting the test
- Add content from blue-cap vial (reagent 1) to the large test-tube containing the solution to be tested.
- Close the large test-tube and shake the combined solutions for 2 to 3 minutes;
- Add the content in the clear-cap vial (reagent 2) to the combined solutions in the large test-tube;
- Close the large test-tube and shake;
- Add the content in the yellow-cap vial (reagent 3) to the large test-tube. If the content is too solid or thick, use the
pipette/stirrer provided to transfer the content from the vial to the test-tube
- Close the large test-tube and shake;
- Let the large test-tube with all the combined solutions stand for 5 minutes;
- Compare the resultant colour of the combined solution in the large test-tube to the colour strip provided.
Test Interference:
the test results can be affected by the presence of ions from beryllium (II), Selenium (IV), Titan (IV), Vanadium (V),
Copper, Flouride ions above 0.1 ppm and other elements above 10 ppm in the solution to be tested.
The numbers indicate parts per million.
